A compound found in cannabis plants, CBD (a cannabinoid), is known to provide therapeutic benefits. CBD (Cannabidiol) doesn’t produce the same intoxicating effects of its cousin, tetrahydrocannabinol. However, it is less tightly regulated and can be purchased without a prescription in most U.S. areas. Even high CBD cannabis can also be bought online without a medical marijuana card.

Although both hemp and marijuana are one species, Cannabis indica is a different species. However, hemp has been selectively grown for its thick stalks. These fibers can be used to make cloth, paper, and rope for centuries. Because most of the THC in marijuana is in the flowering portion of the plant, marijuana breeders sought dense, heavy plants (buds). For decades, they have carefully bred CBD, which reduces the potency of THC.

CBD also has psychoactive properties. It doesn’t matter if you consider CBD to be a high, but vaping or using CBD oils will make you feel different. CBD oil can produce a pleasant feeling that many people find comparable to THC. Contrary to THC products, CBD products are not likely to cause you failure in a drug screen. As long as you select the right CBD products.

Does CBD get you high?

CBD and THC, both mood-altering compounds, have significant therapeutic benefits. They can relieve pain and nausea, reduce inflammation, treat seizure disorders, and more. Although both cannabinoids have psychoactive properties, THC is more intoxicating. CBD promotes relaxation and calmness; THC creates actual euphoria. It alters your perceptions of time and space.

How does CBD work?

The endocannabinoid systems, which is an internal network made up of chemicals and receptors within the central and peripheral nervous and immune systems, are common in humans and other mammals. These receptors, CB1 and CB2, interact with molecules called “ligands” (in this instance endogenous cannabisoids like anandamide) and control neurotransmitters such as dopamine or glutamate. The endocannabinoid ligands and certain enzymes all work together to influence many processes in the body. This includes thought, memory and pain management.

Exogenous cannabinoids are cannabinoids made outside of the body. These can be CBD or THC, as well as other cannabinoids. They can bind with CB1 (and other) receptors and produce different effects. THC is effective in pain relief . THC may relieve nausea and stimulate appetite. CBD is an anti-inflammatory and an antioxidant that has been proven to be medically effective in certain seizure disorder.

THC and CBD aren’t considered dangerous because they won’t affect parts of your brain that control vital functions. Cannabinoid receptors are not like opioid receptors. They will never cause your lungs stop breathing. You can’t overdose on cannabis.

Is CBD psychoactive, or intoxicating?

CBD is believed to be useful in treating anxiety and insomnia. Although the scientific research on CBD isn’t clear, it has been shown to be effective in treating anxiety, insomnia, and stress. CBD is relaxing for many.

It’s interesting that marijuana strains high in both CBD and THC don’t produce the same negative effects as those that are high in THC, but low in CBD. CBD seems to “compete” on the CB1 receptors with THC, and so moderates the psychoactive effects of its cousin.

CBD may affect your mood by providing you with a deep sense relaxation and calm, but it does not alter spatial and sensory perceptions or cause euphoria. THC is the exception. THC is the intoxicating cannabinoid, while both cannabinoids may be psychoactive. This also applies to delta 8 products, THCA and all other forms of tetrahydrocannabinol.

What does CBD make you feel like?

As we have already mentioned, CBD’s primary feeling is relaxation. Some people describe CBD as being able to neutralize pain and discomfort or remove stress. It can feel like an effect all by itself for some. Some people feel that it is an effect in itself, while others feel a more relaxed and peaceful state, or a lack of negative feelings.

CBD can be used to reduce inflammation and pain. You may notice this, as well as the anxiety and stress relief. Vaping360 interviewed a user who first tried CBD tincture and CBD capsules . He reported feeling “super relaxed, with no anxiety, pain, and almost as if I was floating”.

It is thought that CBD-rich hemp flower (buds), and high-CBD/low THC marijuana flowers (high-CBD/low THC) are the most likely to experience the strongest psychoactive effects. The higher THC content of the cannabis flower may explain this.
